First hard rock hit
by: Rockin Rodwell

You Really Got Me was actually released in Aug
1964 and made it into the US top 10 and #1 in the UK. This was one of the first songs I ever sang in front of an audience; the guitarist said I did the screamin part too long imagine that. Since it is related to MY story I will accept this song.
This song is regarded by most authorities as
the first hard rock hit(thank you Kinks)with heavy metal not to far behind.
In 1990 their first year of eligibility The Kinks were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame then in 2005 inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame.
Van Halen did a remake of this song on their debut album "Van Halen" released in 1978. This is the version that I sang thus the screamin part.

Very good choice Julie Thank-You
